THE NEW ART STUDIO

I'm proud and pleased to announce my new art establishment; LITTLE DJOE AND MAMA MAYA: AN ART ADVENTURE (LDMM in short). Together with my good friend, Maya (www.replicakescrib.blogspot.com), our new ART STUDIO located at Bukit Timah Shopping Centre was set up recently.

We call it The LDMM ART Studio.

LDMM will run Art programs for kids and adults like 2D and 3D Workshops, Small Group Art Gatherings and exhibition and Weekly classes.

Visit us at www.djoemaya.blogspot.com for more info.

I'm really happy with this. I've always wanted to bring my artistic and creative mind to another level and now it has happened with the partnership with Maya, my good friend who is also a wonderful Artist.

Wish us all the best ya!

Art is important for kids because...

1. Art stimulates both sides of the brain.

2. The kids learn by using their senses and art is ideal in this process

3. The kids need a place to express themselves at school.

4. Art promotes self esteem

5. Art encourages kids to give more attention to the physical space that surround them.

6. Art develops hand and eye coordination.

7. Art stimulates perception.

8. Art teaches them to think openly. It represents a culture of questioners more than a culture of responders.

9. Art teaches that there is more than one solution for a problem.

10. Art teaches kids to think creatively to solve problems.

11. Kids can share and reflect on their work of art and learn something about the world they live in.

Waterlilies at Sunrise by Rudy Djoharnaen

Acrylic on paper
2010 Day To Day Art

In personal collection of Aryanti Sukaimy (Singapore)

"This painting is too beautiful for words. Each time these pair of eyes is set on... the painting the mind went empty and at ease to simply enjoy the beauty of the flower. A different type of vision is seen here, with the touch of the sunrise, the waterlilies look more alive and project its beauty. The water holds it together and brings everything together to a state of tranquility. This vision of his is truly admirable and it can only be done by a subtle painter." (Aryanti Sukaimy)

Emma and her tallest Tree

"Teacher, do you know what I'm drawing?"
"What, Emma?"
"I'm drawing the tallest tree in the whole wide world."
"Wow! Is this a very old tree?"
"Yes, very, very, very, very old you know."

This kid's imagination is just amazing.
