"If the definition of a diary is a book in which one keeps a daily record of events and experiences, Rudy’s drawings are a form of 'diaristic' interpretation. He goes about his day-to-day life observing nature and the most mundane things he can find and re-interprets them. He approaches everything with honesty and sensitivity. He has demonstrated tremendous interest and has developed a good understanding of his subject matter. As a result, one will find a work that is whimsical but yet elegant and at the same time lyrical."

Dear Finch.
And you are welcome, finch! Rise up and play
Those liquid notes that steal men's heart away;
Like Moses you have seen the flames burnt high
On Sinai slopes there you long to fly,
Like him, avoid cruel Pharoah’s hand, and seek
Your promised home Sinai’s mountain peak.
There you will understand unspoken words
Too subtle for the hearts of mortal birds.
The Conference of The Birds

TheRoyalJoeSketch
When I was a kid, I was fascinated with hot air balloons. If I'm rich one day, I'm going to have my own hot air balloon. I will call it "The Royal Joe ITA" (Royal Joe In The Air). Royal Joe's design will be exclusively for me. I will also get more balloons for other people to experience the float. They will have lunch up on the balloons, snap photos, make drawings of the sky and landscape below. It's going to be wonderful.
Perhaps, one day, it will come true.

"Dragonfly dalam bahasa Melayu, apa?"
"Lalat Dragon."
"Kepala otak awaklah. Ia dipanggil Sibur-Sibur."
Antara Cikgu Hadzizah dan Aku, 1987.
Deep in the sun-searched growths the dragonfly
Hangs like a blue thread loosened from the sky.
~Dante Gabriel Rossetti (1828-1882), Silent Noon
English Poetry III: From Tennyson to Whitman.
The Harvard Classics. 1909–14.
